Case Study

Ulkatcho First Nation

A complete community website and editing studio built in partnership with Ulkatcho First Nation in Anahim Lake, British Columbia, with the training and policy work for the Nation to run it independently.

The Client

A Website The Community Runs

Ulkatcho First Nation, based in Anahim Lake, British Columbia, needed a community website that could carry news, programs, and services to members, and that the Nation's own staff could keep current themselves.

Working in close partnership with the Nation's team, we built ulkatcho.ca along with a modern editing studio, supported the Nation's communications policy work, and delivered hands-on training so publishing lives with the community, not with an outside agency.

What We Delivered

More Than A Website

The engagement paired a complete community website with the studio, policy foundation, and training that let the Nation own it fully.

A Complete Community Website

A modern website at ulkatcho.ca built around what community members and staff actually need, with every part of the site shaped in close partnership with the Nation's team.

A Modern Editing Studio

A content studio built on Sanity CMS, available at ulkatcho.ca/studio, gives Nation staff a clear, friendly place to write, edit, and publish without touching code.

Communications Policy Work

We supported the Nation's communications policy work so publishing decisions have a clear, community-owned foundation, not just a set of tools.

Hands-On CMS Training

Nation staff received hands-on training in the studio, working through real updates together until publishing felt routine rather than technical.

Capacity That Stays

Community-Run, Not Agency-Dependent

The measure of this project is who runs it now. Nation staff publish and manage their own content independently, from everyday updates to new pages, using the studio built for them. The site belongs to the community in practice, not just on paper.

We remain in an ongoing supportive relationship with the Nation's team, available when they want us, and never a dependency for the work they now do themselves.

Let's Create Something Meaningful Together

Whether you're envisioning a digital tool, shaping a community-led engagement project, or bringing stories and knowledge to life — we'd love to collaborate.
